Aging Doesn’t Have To Be Hard
FEELING LOST?
Most of us lack the knowledge to plan for care needs effectively. Uncertainty about care options and their costs can create anxious moments. We provide the opportunity to examine feelings and explore the options available - replacing the anxiety of uncertainty with the comfort of a plan.

COPING WITH LIFE CHANGES
Aging increases what we know but may limit what we can do. Therapy can reinforce your core sense of self - distinguishing who you are from what you can do. We can arrange support services to identify helpful assistive technology and conduct therapy to overcome the resistance to using it. We help assess changes so you can develop coping skills and make a plan that replaces negative emotional responses with effective care.

CAREGIVER SPOUSES
Caregiving can drain the “healthy” spouse. Cognitive behavior therapy and talk therapy provide tools to obtain the objectivity needed for sound decision making that takes care of both spouses. We help recognize when asistance is needed and when community support resources can lighten the load.

SENIORS HAVING DIFFICULTY AT HOME
Aging in place requires tools to battle both actual & perceived isolation and to expand social & functional venues so that home works longer. We can help you examine the objective signs that tell when a change is needed.

DEMENTIA
Dementia can be cruel to both the patient and their family. Supplementing medical treatment, family therapy can help cope with the emotionally devastating effects of the disease.

DEPRESSION
While seniors are no more likely than anyone else to suffer from depression, the loss of social structure that comes with aging can make the symptoms much harder to control. We offer therapy programs that address the special issues that depressed seniors face.

FAMILY CONFLICTS
Most of us count on assistance from our children as we age. The generation in care today typically has multiple offspring to whom they can turn. What seems like an advantage can lead to bad behavior by adult children. Conflicts that arise can be a major obstacle to both financial planning and delivering care. There are common patterns to these conflicts. Knowing and addressing them can help avoid the unpleasant situations that make aging harder than it needs to be.

HOARDERS
Compulsive hoarding is more than just clutter. It is a complex and potentially disabling behavioral health problem. We offer ongoing therapy to help you learn to retake control of your life and living space.

CHRONIC ILLNESS
Maximize quality of life by knowing what to expect and how to handle it.

END OF LIFE ISSUES
Maintain the same respect for the last stage of life as those that came before. Our Life Review Program helps everyone involved gain a perspective and appreciation that benefits both the patient and the survivors.
